No electricityNo drain lineTwo-year filter replacement*
Helps reduce scale formation; does not remove hardness minerals or guarantee spot-free surfaces.
What it does
Combines whole-home filtration with scale conditioning at the main supply. Conditioning helps reduce new scale formation without removing hardness minerals. It is not a salt-based softener.
Ongoing care
Plan for filter replacement about every two years. Actual timing depends on water quality and household use. Ask for the replacement schedule and cost with your quote.
Installation requirements
No electricity or drain line is required for the FO1981. Allow space for the tank, plumbing connections, bypass access, and filter replacement. Your installation location must be reviewed.
Warranty
Ask for the current FO1981 written warranty and guarantee with your quote. Confirm coverage for the tank, components, filter media, and installation, plus exclusions and any service requirements.

Whole-home filtration
Independence Series
IS1776
For homeowners focused on filtered water for everyday drinking, cooking, and bathing.
Filtration only; does not soften water or control scale.
What it does
Provides whole-home filtration using the selected media. Ask which substances your exact configuration is designed to reduce. Filtration alone does not remove hardness minerals or provide scale conditioning.
Ongoing care
Confirm the backwash settings, media life, and any service schedule for your water quality and usage. Follow the owner’s manual for your installed configuration.
Installation requirements
Backwashing configurations require suitable drain access and power for the control valve. Confirm connection size, available flow, location, and equipment clearance with AmeriFree.
Warranty
Request the current Independence written warranty and guarantee. Review coverage for the tank, valve, media, parts, installation, and exclusions before purchase.
Combine whole-home filtration with conditioning to help reduce new scale formation.
Hardness minerals remain in the water; conditioning is different from softening.
What it does
Pairs whole-home filtration with Maverick scale conditioning. The conditioner helps reduce new scale formation while leaving hardness minerals in the water; it does not guarantee spot-free surfaces.
Ongoing care
Ask for the filtration backwash schedule, media service life, and conditioner care requirements for your installation. Care depends on your configuration, water quality, and usage.
Installation requirements
Allow room for the filtration and conditioning equipment, bypasses, and service access. Confirm any power and drain requirements for the filtration valve before installation.
Warranty
Request written Freedom Series coverage for both the filtration and conditioning components. Confirm media, valve, parts, installation coverage, exclusions, and applicable care requirements.
Choose a salt-based softener when removing hardness minerals is your priority.
Requires salt replenishment, a drain connection, and power for its control valve.
What it does
Uses salt-based ion exchange to remove calcium and magnesium hardness minerals. It provides softened water; a separate filter may be needed for other water concerns.
Ongoing care
Replenish softener salt and follow the owner’s manual for salt level checks, settings, and periodic care. Salt consumption varies with water hardness, usage, and programmed regeneration.
Installation requirements
Requires a brine tank, a suitable regeneration drain, power for the control valve, and room for service and salt refilling. AmeriFree will review your plumbing and installation location.
Warranty
Ask for the current Hero written warranty and guarantee, including tank, valve, resin, parts, and installation coverage. Review exclusions and required maintenance.
Bring whole-home filtration and the benefits of softened water together in one package.
Softener care includes salt replenishment. Ask about an optional drinking-water RO system.
What it does
Combines whole-home filtration and salt-based softening to address selected filtration concerns and remove hardness minerals. A dedicated RO drinking-water system is optional.
Ongoing care
Refill softener salt and follow the care schedule for both the filter and softener. An optional RO unit has separate filter and membrane replacement needs. Ask for a complete ownership care plan.
Installation requirements
Allow space for both treatment tanks, the brine tank, plumbing, and service access. Confirm drain and electrical needs. Optional RO equipment also needs space and connections at the kitchen sink.
Warranty
Request the current Liberty written warranty and guarantee for each included component. Confirm media, resin, valve, parts, installation, and any optional RO coverage separately.
Add a dedicated under-sink tankless reverse osmosis system for drinking and cooking water. Ask about its digital faucet, UV feature, mineral stage, and replacement filters.
Flo by Moen
Explore water monitoring and automatic shutoff as an additional layer of leak protection. This device monitors water use; it is not a water filter.

Good questions. Clear answers.
Before you choose.
Will every system soften my water?
No. Hero and Liberty include salt-based softening to remove hardness minerals. FreedomOne and Freedom use conditioning to help reduce scale formation without removing those minerals. Independence provides filtration only.
Does every system need electricity or a drain?
No. FreedomOne operates without electricity or a drain line. Backwashing filters and salt-based softeners can require power and drain access. We’ll confirm requirements for your selected system and installation location.
What maintenance should I expect?
FreedomOne has a planned filter replacement every two years, depending on water quality and use. Salt-based softeners require salt replenishment. RO systems have their own filter schedules. Ask for a written care plan for the exact equipment you choose.
What affects my installation price?
Existing plumbing, access, system location, required connections, and the scope of work affect installation. We review these details with you and explain the quote before you decide.
What warranty comes with my system?
Coverage varies by model and component. Ask for the complete written warranty and guarantee with your quote, including media, parts, labor, exclusions, and any replacement requirements.
Can a whole-house filter remove every contaminant?
No. Treatment depends on your water supply and the selected filtration media. These systems should not be assumed to make unsafe water safe. Tell us if you use well water or have a specific contaminant concern so suitability can be reviewed.
Do I need reverse osmosis if I already have whole-house filtration?
Not every household needs both. Whole-house filtration treats water at the main supply for daily use throughout the home. An under-sink reverse osmosis system provides additional treatment for drinking and cooking at its dedicated faucet. Whether RO is useful depends on your water quality, what the whole-house filter reduces, and your preferences. Ask us to compare the treatment capabilities and ongoing filter costs for your exact setup.
Will a conditioner eliminate water spots?
No. Conditioning helps reduce scale formation but leaves dissolved hardness minerals in the water. Those minerals can still leave spots when water evaporates. A salt-based softener removes hardness minerals, but even softened water can leave residue from other dissolved substances. Neither conditioning nor softening should be presented as a guarantee of completely spot-free surfaces.
